Anne Ratte-Polle

Anne Ratte-Polle

We are more than happy that Anne Ratte-Polle agreed to be the patron of this year’s BERLIN ART FILM FESTIVAL. The theatre, television and film actress has been working at the Berlin Volksbühne, and with directors such as René Pollesch, Frank Castorf, Dimiter Gotscheff, Werner Schroeter, and Herbert Fritsch.

Ranging from expressive high-energy performances on stage to subtle character studies in arthouse films, Anne Ratte-Polle has become one of the most remarkble and flexible German actresses of our time.

At this year’s Berlinale, you could see her in two lead roles in Wanja (director: Carolina Hellsgård) and Sybille (director: Michael Krummenacher). We honour her work with a kick-off screening before the actual festival (Saturday, 5 December) and celebrate her with a special matinee screening on Sunday, 13 December: Lifetimeshort (UmDeinLeben) by Gesine Danckwart and excerpts from Elfi Mikesch‘ Mondo Lux.

Apart from that, you can see Anne Ratte-Polle on our poster and in a screen test in this year’s trailer.
